Good faith guidelines for TV installations above a fireplace, per Hearth & Home fireplace owner's manual

Top of mantel to be 18" minimum above fireplace opening or hood (if applicable), bottom of TV to be minimum 2" to maximum 3" above mantel, depth of mantel = wall bracket + TV thickness + 2.5", face of TV to be minimum 2.5" back from front edge of mantel.  These are good faith recommended clearances only and not a guarantee of compliance with all TV manufacturers' maximum allowable operating temperatures. Actual TV temperatures should be validated at the time of each installation. Mantel height and depth must conform to mantel requirements specified in the fireplace installation manual.
